Tuesday February 11th:

📽️Documentary Screening | History on Elm: Restoring Greenwood Cemetery @ State Historical Society of Missouri. Join us for a screening of a short documentary on the restoration of Greenwood Cemetery in North St. Louis, led by Shelley and Raphael Morris. Directed by Columbia-based filmmaker Jim Karpowicz, the film highlights the cemetery’s rich Black history and ongoing preservation efforts. After the 17-minute screening, the Morrises will answer audience questions. Recognized for their dedication, they received the 2019 Mission St. Louis Neighbors of the Year award and the 2024 Rosa L. Parks Award for community service. Noon-1PM

Dinner & Wine Series @ Glenn’s Cafe. Join us for a dining experience like no other. We will be presenting a four course dinner crafted by our Executive Chef, and our Sommelier will guide guests through each wine pairing. Agatha Christie’s Murder On The Orient Express (Feb 13-15) @ Macklanburg Playhouse Stephens College. Aboard the luxurious Orient Express, detective Hercule Poirot investigates the murder of a wealthy American, uncovering secrets and lies among the passengers. With suspense, intrigue, and brilliant deduction, the play invites audiences to unravel clues alongside Poirot in a timeless tale of deception and justice. 📽️Documentary Screening | I'm So Glad: Kansas City and the Roots of Black Gospel Music, The Untold Story @ State Historical Society of Missouri. Join us for a free screening of I’m So Glad: Kansas City and the Roots of Black Gospel Music, The Untold Story (2023). This documentary explores how Kansas City’s 18th and Vine District shaped Black gospel music, influencing American culture from New York to Hollywood. Featuring music, stories, and insights from historians and musicians, it highlights the region’s vital role in Black gospel’s evolution, including Kansas’ legacy as a refuge for the formerly enslaved. 2-4PM

Legends of Conservation Photo Presentation @ The State Historical Society of Missouri. Join Noppadol Paothong Photography for a special presentation on conservation photography! Charles McPherson Quintet feat. Terell Stafford – “We Always Swing” Jazz Series Sundays @ Murry’s. Jazz legend Charles McPherson, who began his professional career at 19, has performed worldwide alongside icons like Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, and Phil Woods. A prolific composer and Resident Composer for the San Diego Ballet, his work has been featured at Jazz at Lincoln Center, with Jazz Dance Suites earning acclaim as one of the year’s best jazz recordings. Joining him is Grammy-winning trumpeter Terell Stafford, praised by jazz great McCoy Tyner as “one of the great players of our time.” Together, they promise an unforgettable night of masterful jazz. Shows at 3PM and 6:30PM. Comedian Dustin Nickerson w/ Will O’Donnell & Emily Zell @ The Blue Note. Seattle native Dustin Nickerson is a rising comedian, known for his hit special Overwhelmed on Amazon Prime. Featured on Comedy Central, Netflix by Kevin Hart, and The Late Late Show with James Corden, he’s also a SiriusXM regular. About: Located on the grounds of the Truman VA Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri, this 16-suite “home away from home” serves veterans and current military families, providing free, temporary lodging for families of veterans receiving hospital care. The House is operated by Volunteerism and donations are overseen by The Friends of Mid-Missouri Fisher House, a 501(c)3 non-profit that raises funds to support the Fisher House. This group is supported by the Fisher House Foundation, an international charity based in the US. ➡️ Learn more
